Our Teachers

Meet Our Wonderful Teachers!

Our teachers offer dynamic programs within a safe, supportive atmosphere and take great care in creating flexible programs that address the needs and curiosities of the children as a group and as individuals.

Mrs. Joca

Head Teacher

Mrs. Joca began teaching in fall of 2010, after studying Early Childhood Education at MacEwan University and has never looked back. Passionate about small children and their development, teaching is a natural fit for her.

As an educator, she believes in programs that allow children to develop all aspects of who they are. Her teaching style fosters positive environments and experiences that encourage individuality so that each child may become all they were destined to become. Mrs. Joca values the use of continuous positive reinforcement as a means to support a child’s growth and development.

Mrs. Joca likes to provide a space where children can feel supported, safe and are exposed to a variety of activities where learning is so much fun! It is her desire that children in her care enjoy a positive and successful experience.

In her free time, Mrs. Joca enjoys yoga, running, mountain biking, and hiking with her husband and three children.  Mrs. Joca’s warm and caring nature is sure to make your child feel welcome in our classroom!

Ms. Katie

Assistant Teacher

Ms. Katie emigrated from Ireland with her partner and 3 children in 2014. Her initial connection to the playschool environment was as a parent volunteer and she was immediately hooked!

Ms. Katie joined Blue Quill Playschool in 2017 and was an instant fit. Her friendly, enthusiastic personality make her a natural in the classroom. She is passionate about learning new techniques and strategies to help children with their growth and development as they prepare for kindergarten.

Ms. Katie’s intention is to always provide a very positive and encouraging school experience for both students and their families. She is looking forward to another great year at Blue Quill Playschool and can’t wait to see what the kids teach her next!
